Mar 3rd 2012 - 5 Vegas Miami

Today brings us the 5 Vegas Miami in a 6.1x52 torpedo vitola. Originally the Miami line was a small batch production cigar by the people at 5 Vegas for special events across the country. It was originally manufactured in Miami. Now it has been brought to regular production by Don Pepin Garcia and is produced in Nicaragua and is a Nicaraguan puro. The 5 Vegas Miami is a full bodied smoke with great flavors of pepper, spice, nuts, coffee and a sweetness that really rounds it out nicely. I chose this to be today's cigar because on this day in 1845 that Florida became the 27th state in the United States. Florida has been home to some of the biggest milestones in our history. From NASA, the Seminole Indians to the fact that after the Cuban Embargo was signed that Miami became the cigar hub of the US. DPG's El Rey de los Habanos Factory is located in Miami. Happy B-Day Florida!
