Dec 28th 2011 - Man O War Puro Authentico

Number #3 in TheDailyCigar's countdown of new to me cigars of 2011 brings us the Man O War Puro Authentico Corona in a 5x42 vitola which is it's only size. Originally conceived as AJ Fernandez's personal blend to smoke on a day to day basis he was finally convinced by the guys at cigar.com to make it a mass production cigar. Thankfully for us he did. Coming from Tabaclera Fernandez the Puro Authentico has a mix of Nicaraguan long fillers and an Esteli Habano wrapper from Nicaragua. It has a pig tail cap and an unfinished shaggy foot. It has flavors of earth, leather and tons of spice. This cigar blew me away and I feel it will you too.

  1. How would you compare this to say the Ruination or the Armada?

  2. I would say it more closely resembles the Ruination but honestly it's vastly different than both. The Armada in my experiences is smooth med-full bodied and elegant. The Ruination, my #1 cigar, is bold in your face and full bodied. With the PA you get a full bodied smack in the face in a package you'd never expect it in. The amount of spice and pepper is incredible
