Oct 31st 2011 - Tatuaje The Wolfman

Today's cigar is Tatuaje's The Wolfman in its only size a 7.5x52 Torpedo. The Wolfman is the 4th cigar in Pete Johnson's famed Halloween Series. The Wolfman features a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with its binder and fillers coming from Nicaraguan. The construction is amazing on this cigar all the way from the shaggy foot to the head. The Wolfman is very complex from start to finish. Starting with its first flavor notes of oak, chocolate and slight pepper that develop into a sweet oak, spice and earth with hints of dark coffee and nuts. I chose this to be today’s cigar as today is Halloween. I hope everyone out there has a great and safe Halloween!

Oct 30th 2011 - The Dog Walker

Day 7 of value week brings us to The Dog Walker Torpedo in a 6x60 (I think) vitola to close value week out. The Dog Walker is a local B&M blend from the Tinder Box in Waldorf, MD. This cigar has been compared to the Hoyo De Monterrey Excalibur. This cigar is known for its consistency and it's great flavors which makes it a great choice to hand out when hanging out with friends who enjoy the occasional cigar. Oct 29th 2011 - Capoeira

Day 6 of value week brings us the Capoeira Professor in a 5x50 vitola. Capoeira features a 4-yr-aged Brazilian Mata Fina Maduro wrapper with a Costa Rican Corojo binder with it's long fillers from Nicaragua, Honduras and the San Andreas Valley in Mexico. With an earthy core that features hints of spice, leather and coffee this cigar never disappoints. Just like the flavors the construction and burn on this cigar are very consistent. This medium bodied cigar is perfect for anytime of the day and is a value staple with it's average price coming in around $3.75 a cigar.

Oct 28th 2011 - Sancho Panza Extra-Fuerte

Day 5 of value smoke week brings ups the Sancho Panza Extra-Fuerte Madrid in a 6.1x54 vitola. Featuring a Honduran wrapper with Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers this is about as solid of a full bodied value smoke as you'll find. While featuring a leathery core with strong notes earth and a slight dark sweetness that rounds this cigar out nicely. If you are looking for a great stick to hand out after a nice dinner without breaking the bank you simply can't go wrong with the Sancho Panza Extra-Fuerte considering it's average price point of around $2.50 a stick.

Oct 27th 2011 - Pirates Gold

Day 4 of value week brings us a mild-medium bodied gem. Today's cigar is the Pirates Gold Rothschild in a 5x50 vitola. Pirates gold features it's wrapper and binder from Ecuador and it's fillers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Brazil. Pirates Gold is a solid one trick pony. You won't get tons of complexity out of this cigar but what you do get is a consistently good cigar with woody and tobacco flavors throughout. Anytime you you want to have a cigar while mowing the yard, raking leaves, etc this is a perfect cigar for that especially when you factor in it's average price point of $1.50.

Oct 26th 2011 - Nica Libre

Day 3 of value week brings us a gem from Tabaclera Fernandez in Nicaragua. Today is Nica Libre Diplomatico in a 7x50 vitola. Nica Libre features a fantastic San Andreas Maduro wrapper with a Habano binder and Nicagraguan long fillers. This cigar is great. It has a very earthy spicy core with a coffee sweetness that keeps it from being bitter and rounds it out nicely. This is a fantastic box pressed cigar that smokes at a price point of around double what it averages which is around $3.

Oct 25th 2011 - Cigar.com Brazilian Label

Today's value smoke is the Cigar.com Brazilian Label Torpedo in a 6x52 vitola. The Cigar.com Brazilian Label is made at Tabaclera Fernandez in Nicaragua. With a Brazilian Arapiraca Maduro wrapper and Nicaraguan fillers this cigar has great flavor throughout. The flavor notes of chocolate and espresso last throughout with a hint of honey that complete rounds out this great cigar. For around $3 a stick you will be hard pressed to find a better maduro in it's price range.
